The Retreat

During your stay, you'll partake in daily cooking sessions within a small group, using farm-fresh ingredients. You will craft traditional Sicilian antipasti, pasta dishes, secondi and desserts, discovering the cherished recipes handed down through generations and savor the vibrant flavors of Sicilian cuisine. You will discover fantastic local ingredients, like Nebrodi wild pig, local honey, wild fennel, and nettle just to name a few (ingredients are subject to seasonal availability).

Between cooking sessions, each day presents a new opportunity for adventure. Join our workshops curated by your local guides about cheese-making, olive oil tasting, foraging for wild greens, or hand-pick vegetables with us from our organic garden.

Santa Mamma's secluded setting offers a genuine opportunity to unwind and rediscover inner peace. You will have time to immerse yourself in the beauty of our farm, where time moves slowly with the changing seasons, or take leisurely strolls through encompassing oak forest and the serene olive tree grove. Summer invites you to relax by the pool while admiring the picturesque vista of the Nebrodi’s valleys.

A Historic Farm

Situated against the backdrop of Nebrodi's majestic vistas, Masseria Santa Mamma is a one-of-a-kind haven. Dating back to the 16th century, its rustic houses are cocooned within 480 hectares of enchanting oak forest, rolling pastures, and timeless olive groves. With a rich familial history spanning six generations, this cherished land was bestowed upon the owner's ancestors by none other than King Vittorio Emanuele II, the first king of Italy, adding a royal touch to its legacy.

Experience the rustic charm of our meticulously renovated buildings, where the ambiance of yesteryear meets modern comfort. Santa Mamma operates as an environmentally conscious retreat. Solar panels and a hydroelectric power turbine, that draws water directly from a lake located on the farm’s premises, ensure complete energy independence. Additionally, our commitment to sustainability extends to the utilization of biomass-generated heat sourced from our farm's own production. With no reliance on the grid, our commitment to eco-friendliness remains unwavering.

Our swimming pool, offering breathtaking views of the Nebrodi valley, was ingeniously repurposed from a former agricultural irrigation tank. Additionally, the farm produces a bounty of meat, cheese, oil, eggs, fruits, and vegetables, all of which are thoughtfully utilized in guest meals and cooking classes, ensuring a farm-to-table experience of the highest quality.

The Rooms

Our bedrooms exude rustic charm, each boasting its own distinctive allure and adorned with family heirlooms and antique furniture. To ensure our guests' comfort, we've meticulously crafted ensuite bathrooms in each bedroom, providing all the essential amenities for a delightful vacation experience.

Please bear in mind that our accommodations are nestled within historic buildings, and while our bathrooms are thoughtfully designed to ensure your utmost comfort, some may be cozy in size. Should you have any specific requirements, please don't hesitate to inform us, and we'll make every effort to accommodate your needs.
